I talked Seafood Safety and Public Policy, in the public colloquium "Fukushima and the Ocean" at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution on 9 May 2013. The movie uploads on the WHOI web site:
http://www.whoi.edu/main/morss/fukushima (program)
http://www.whoi.edu/page.do?pid=119996&cl=93914&tid=5122 (my talk starts from the 45th min)
http://www.whoi.edu/page.do?pid=119996&cl=93875&tid=5122 (panel discussion).
I noted three key words, (1) "freedom of choice" for both sides, one who likes to avoid radioactive contamination and the other who supports farmers/fishers near Fukushima NPP, (2) "risk tradeoff" between radioactive contamination and stress/inconvenience of evacuation, and (3) human dimension of environmental issues that is encouraged in IPCC and CBD.
