Japan can no longer keep eating so much tuna

Calling for lower fishing quotas of tunas while others bemoan the soaring price of tuna have been making headlines recently. People in Europe and the United States blame “Japan’s love of sushi” for this threat to one of the world’s favorite fish. ...

As the world’s largest importer of seafood, some part of which are caught by illegal and irresponsible means, Japan has a large responsibility to control marine resources. ...

If we can change with the times, however, Japan may be able to lead the world in a simultaneous pursuit of sustainable fishing and environmental conservation. (see the full text)
