Visit Yakushima Ramsar Site
I visited Yakushima Ramsar Site (Nagatahama, the biggest spawning site of red sea turtles) as shown in my Facebook, accompanied with Prof. Maureen Reed (Canadian MAB) and RIHN members.
This local NPO is threatened by bankrupt within several years. Japanese government did not sufficiently support it. Some local people "uses" sea turtles to conserve this beach. Some international funds supported this NPO to conserve endangered sea turtles. Ramsar (and probably Biosphere reserve) are good tools to connect between this local NPO and global conservation activities.
